Hip and elbow dysplasia-Riser
Hip Dysplasia, this work is worth reading. He is old, but there's a
lot here that fell off the radar while everyone focused on searching for genes. An interesting thing he says is that in babies with early signs of Dysplasia, hips can be refurbished during the development of the skeleton and be completely normal as an adult, keeping the dog in a cage for a month or two so that he spends much of the time-that seats the femoral head in acetabulum where it belongs and the physical forces result in the development of correct anatomy. So I have to wonder if we should not be routinely scanning hips in about 4 months so we can intervene to reverse the picture. There's a lot more-I think you'll find it an interesting read.
